Message Usage Alerts
The EDI Generator allows you to receive automated email notifications when your monthly message volume exceeds specific thresholds relative to the allowed monthly messages limit of your subscription.
Please note that this feature is available only for non-trial (paid) accounts.
Setting Up Usage Alerts
Navigate to Subscription under Administration from the left sidebar, then expand Message Usage Alerts.
To begin, select the Enable Usage Email Alerts checkbox. Once enabled, the configuration fields will become visible and editable.
Enter upto 3 email addresses separated by commas, to which you wish to receive these alerts.
Then you can add up to five usage thresholds to trigger alerts when exceeded.
Note that you must configure at least one threshold before saving your preferences. When adding a new threshold, simply enter a percentage value between 1 and 100 (inclusive) without the percentage (%) sign.
Understanding the Alert Email
When your account’s message usage exceeds a configured threshold, an email alert will be received to the configured email addresses, and it will provide a comprehensive snapshot of your current and projected monthly message statistics.
- Exceeded Threshold: States which threshold was exceeded (e.g., “90% Alert Threshold Exceeded”).
- Allowed Messages: Your total monthly message quota based on your current subscription package.
- Current Usage: The exact number of billable messages processed in the current month so far.
- Predicted Usage: An estimate of your total month-end usage based on your current volume trends.
Managing Plan Limits
If your predicted month-end usage seems to exceed the allowed message quota significantly, you may want to consider upgrading your package to avoid additional charges for messages that exceed your quota. You can change your package at any time from the Change Subscription Package section on the same page.
