Aayu Technologies LLC just released MFT Gateway 2.1.0, the latest update of the world’s first Serverless Managed File
Transfer Gateway implemented on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Let’s have a quick overview of the new version and see what’s
MFT Gateway REST API
With the latest update of MFT Gateway, now you can automate your message workflows easily without depending on the MFT
Gateway web console. Let’s take a quick look around the API gateway main functionalities.
REST API endpoints
Authentication and Authorization
MFT Gateway REST API uses Amazon Cognito for user authentication and authorization same as in the web console. Users are
allowed to access API endpoints based on their user role which is allocated for them in the MFT Gateway user management
Send messages to your partners
Now you can send messages using the REST API without login into the web console. The initial release of the API endpoint
only supports sending a single attachment(file) per message, but we are currently working on to enable multiple
attachment support for this endpoint, so stay with us.
API enables you to list all four message types as you were able to do in the web console. Message listing endpoints will
deliver you a list of AS2 message identifiers which can be later used to retrieve individual messages using view message
Message view endpoints can be used to fetch a message alongside MDN (Message Disposition Notification) and transport
headers by AS2 message identifier.
You can use these endpoints to get a download link(S3 presigned URL) to download attachment, raw MDN stored in your
dedicated Amazon S3 bucket.
Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) Integration
SFTP servers can easily support large file transfers as well as bulk file transfers. So, when sending/receiving a large
number of documents, it’s better to use an integration mechanism like SFTP. And also, if you prefer to integrate
internal systems with your trading platform, SFTP is a perfect choice for you.
We have added SFTP Integration with the latest update of MFT Gateway. It’s using AWS Transfer Family so you get all the
benefits behind the AWS Transfer Family. We create and manage users within the AWS Transfer Family. You can sign up with
SFTP username and public key (You can use an existing public key or you can create a new key pair using MFT Gateway).
With SFTP integration, you can
- Send messages using local attachments
- List received attachments
- Download received attachments to a local directory
- List sent attachments
- Download sent attachments to a local directory
