Aayu Technologies LLC has recently released MFT Gateway 3.11.5; with powerful enhancements designed to streamline operations, boost security, and improve automation. From custom retry configurations to expanded API capabilities and enhanced certificate management, this update delivers greater control and efficiency. Whether you’re managing integrations, optimizing message handling, or securing communications, these new features make it easier than ever. Let’s go through this article and explore what’s new.

New Large Payload Endpoints and Static IP Addresses

MFT Gateway has introduced two new static IP addresses for MFT Gateway AS2 message inbound and outbound flows along with the new large payload receiving endpoints for efficient high-volume processing. Moreover, the SSL certificate of the large payload endpoint has been changed to Amazon Root CA.

Static IP Addresses

Custom retry count for failed and incomplete messages

Before the new release, MFT Gateway automatically retried failed and incomplete messages according to the system-defined retry count. From the latest update, the user can set up a partner-level configuration to customize the number of retries. This setting can be configured from both Webapp and REST API.

Webapp

Webapp

AS2 Partner Create and Update REST API changes

Endpoint: https://api.mftgateway.com/partner
Mandatory Headers: Authorization - Authorization header with auth token
Mandatory Query Parameters: service - as2 (String)
Optional fields: maxAutoRetryCount- Specify the maximum auto retry count for failed and incomplete messages. Allowed values: 3, 5, 10 (Number Default: 10)

REST API endpoint to update AS2 stations

Manage existing stations more efficiently with a new API endpoint, enabling direct updates at the API level.

Method: PUT
Endpoint: https://api.mftgateway.com/station
Mandatory Headers: Authorization - Authorization header with auth token
Mandatory fields: identifier - Station identifier (String)

Refer to our REST API documentation for more details.

Provide backup encryption and sign certificate scheduling via REST API

Prior to the latest release, scheduling backup encryption and signature verification certificates to AS2 partners was limited to the web app and with the new update, now it is available via the REST API level as well.

Method: PUT
Endpoint: https://api.mftgateway.com/partner
Mandatory Headers: Authorization - Authorization header with auth token
Mandatory Query Parameters: service - as2 (String)
Optional fields: encryptionBackupCertificate | encryptionBackupCertificateAlias - Base64 encoded encryption certificate or valid existing encryption certificate alias from certificate store. The value for encryptionBackupCertActiveTimeStamp is required to be set.

encryptionBackupCertActiveTimeStamp - Scheduled activation time for the encryption backup certificate in UTC format.

signatureBackupCertificate | signatureBackupCertificateAlias - Base64 encoded signature certificate or valid existing signature certificate alias from certificate store. The value must be set to signatureBackupCertActiveTimeStamp and must be set to true for useDiffCertAsSignCert.

signatureBackupCertActiveTimeStamp - Scheduled activation time for the signature backup certificate in UTC format

Export Message Details as CSV

With the latest update, MFT Gateway has provided a web app feature to effortlessly export message details in CSV format for reporting and analysis.

SFTP Queued Message List

For greater convenience and status updates on composed messages, MFT Gateway introduces a new message list for SFTP queued messages, which can be accessible via the web app and the REST API.

Persist AS2 Send-Failed Attachments to a separate S3 path

MFT Gateway will automatically store failed AS2 attachments in a separate S3 path to simplify troubleshooting and recovery. After a file has been submitted to send and encounters any processing failures, those files will be moved to the AS2/files/<Station-AS2-ID>/<Partner-AS2-ID>/failed location.

File Extension Based Attachment Content Type Overrides

To meet specific integration and message processing needs, MFT Gateway now allows overriding attachment content types based on file extension when sending out messages via the web app, as an AS2 partner-level configuration.

Content Type Overrides

Moreover, if you want to override the attachment content type temporarily when sending a particular message, a message-level configuration is available as well.

Email Notifications for Webhook & EDIG Integration Failures

Keeping integrations running smoothly is crucial, and timely awareness of any failures is key to minimizing disruptions. With the new release, users will receive immediate alerts to their email whenever webhook or EDIG integration failures occur.

Scheduling Backup Station Certificates

Streamline certificate management with the ability to schedule station certificate updates at predefined intervals.

Backup Station Certificates Sharing

Once configured a backup station certificate, you can share it with your partners with the two new additions to the partner configuration share option.

Two-Way TLS/SSL Certificates for Stations

Security is a top priority in data exchange, and Two-Way TLS/SSL certificate authentication provides a robust layer of protection for AS2 stations. This enhancement ensures mutual authentication and gains an extra layer of security.

CA-Signed Certificate Import

Some partners may reject self-signed certificates and demand you to provide a CA-issued certificate (with other specified parameters such as signature algorithm and min/max validity period). In such cases, now you can easily import CA-signed certificates back into MFT Gateway, simplifying certificate management.
