Background
Founded in 2018 in Bend Oregon USA, Kicksaw provides world-class Salesforce implementation, data migration, process optimization, tool integration, data sourcing/enrichment services, and hands-on training to boost the revenue team’s capabilities of their clients.
Challenge
Kicksaw was engaged by a company developing patient-centric medical device manufacturing, which required reporting of information to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States, over the secure AS2 protocol. With their expertise on the secure Salesforce platform, Kicksaw sought a scalable solution that could accommodate its expansion plans and facilitate seamless integration.
Solution
Kicksaw initially explored the hosted MFT Gateway Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering from Aayu Technologies. They decided to sign up for the free trial, which provided them with an opportunity to test the system and gain insights into its user-friendliness and the benefits of its native operation on AWS.
Deployment
At Kicksaw’s request, Aayu Technologies deployed the MFT Gateway solution in a separate AWS account under the ownership of the ultimate customer and managed by Kicksaw. This was to meet the stringent security and regulatory requirements and was located in the desired geographic region of the customer’s choosing. This ensured that all the stored data was encrypted at rest using AWS S3 encryption and the overall solution was compliant with the required regulatory policies.
Moreover, the deployment included customizations as per Kicksaw’s requirements, such as the integration of an Application Load Balancer for accepting large-sized messages and maximizing the endpoint availability. Additionally, a dedicated Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) with a static IP was used for outbound messages. This setup also incorporated FDA-specific custom HTTP headers, ensuring compliance with the requirements set forth by the FDA.
